SCI Reno - Great fun!
We have just returned from an excellent and
productive trip to the SCI convention in Reno, NV. It was a good
convention, and we had the opportunity to visit with a lot of friends
and past clients. This event is always a great way to start the New
Year.
Among many other
benefits, the convention gives us a chance to visit with some of our
favorite business people. These are people who provide equipment and
services we all need and enjoy. You'll see many of these products and
services recommended on our website. I recommend them for several
reasons. First, the products offered by these companies are first class,
which to me means that you can depend on them to get the job done, even
while hunting in our harsh Alaskan environment. Second, and of even more
importance, our suppliers and vendors are good, honest people who stand
behind their products. I have full confidence recommending them to you.

An item
that every hunter or shooter should have is an Acu-Sight Laser System. This is an item Kelly Davis
has been offering for years. I got my first one years ago; I am going to
order a new one from Kelly this week. They work great!
As always
we also spent some time with Michael J. Boyce - Owner of Animal Artistry in Reno. Mike has built something
more that a great taxidermy shop. Animal Artistry is a art studio that
produces some of the finest wildlife art in the entire world. That is
the very reason that we strongly recommend him to all our clients. We
want you to have the very best trophy mount that is possible.

Website and Newsletter Upgrades
If you have been receiving
our newsletter you know we have been working to upgrade our website.
Well, it sure takes a lot of time to get everything up to date, make
needed improvements, and add all the new items we have in mind, but
we're working on it! Jim and I, along with David & Debbie, are
on it every day. We're still a long way from where we want it to be, but
hope you like the improvements so far. As you go through the web site
let us know what you think about it. We need your feedback, after all
the web site is for you!
One of our current upgrades is to
provide more information on hunts that can add other species. As you may
know all of our sheep hunters can add caribou on to their sheep hunt,
and at a great price. Wolf can also be added to all hunts and no cost
other than the big game tag.
Our January newsletter announced that 2007 was, without a
doubt, a great season for Deltana and for our clients. But, to be honest
with you, I am looking forward to the 2008 season. I think it will be
even better than last year!
As you know this spring we have a
spring brown bear season. I think this year may well surpass anything we
have managed in the past, we're hoping for some really big brown bear
this spring. I will let you know how the May season goes when I get back
from bear camp.
2008 - A Few Hunts Still
Available!
As of today I still have a couple open Dall
Sheep hunts for this coming August. This is a great sheep hunt with
a very high success rate on old trophy rams. Look over our web site and
see the type and size rams we are taking, then pick up the phone and
call to get this hunt booked before they are gone and you have to wait
another year to get it done.
